CLEVELAND, Ohio — Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins was released from jail Sunday afternoon on $2,500 bond in his misdemeanor domestic battery case, according to court records obtained by CBS News in Miami.
Judkins was arrested on Saturday morning in Fort Lauderdale and spent the night in the Broward County Main Jail, according to the police report. During his bond hearing on Sunday afternoon, the judge found probable cause and ordered Judkins not to have contact with the victim, and no access to firearms. CBS News Miami saw him walk out of jail that afternoon.
According to the court records obtained by CBS Miami, the incident occurred on July 7 after the victim left the airport, but did not report it until Saturday. According to the records, the victim and Judkins came to South Florida “as friends,” but after the incident she stayed with him in Fort Lauderdale for five days and celebrated her birthday.
Around 9 a.m. Saturday, Fort Lauderdale Police responded to the 1500 block of West Cypress Creek Road regarding a “delayed battery,” according to a statement obtained by cleveland.com. Officers reported they spoke with the victim and determined a battery had occurred. Judkins was arrested and taken into custody.
The Browns told cleveland.com they’re gathering more information, and the NFL told cleveland.com it’s aware of the matter but had no further comment. The NFL will conduct its own investigation into the incident under its Personal Conduct Policy, and Judkins faces a possible suspension of up to six games for a first violation.
It’s the second straight summer that a Browns second-round pick out of Ohio State has been arrested for domestic violence. Last year it was defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr., who was suspended five games of his rookie season by the NFL.
The Browns are also awaiting the domestic-violence hearing of linebacker Devin Bush, who was arrested for an incident involving his girlfriend on May 5 in suburban Pittsburgh. Bush’s formal arraignment is Friday.
Judkins, the only unsigned 2025 Browns draft pick of the seven, is due to report to training camp on Friday with the rest of the rookies and quarterbacks. The other veterans report on July 22, with the first full practice on July 23.
