There was no indication this happy news was coming. In fact, we thought Cody Rhodes was in Australia filming Street Fighter. Maybe he is! We know Rhodes was written off WWE television after SummerSlam, presumably so he could go shoot scenes for his role (all-but-confirmed to be Guile) before defending his Undisputed title against Drew McIntyre this fall. He also just had a lengthy discussion with Becky Lynch on his So What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast about their young daughters, and when Lynch mentioned her & Seth Rollins’ asking for a baby brother — Rhodes never mentioned that he and his wife Brandi were even planning for a second child.
But it seems Liberty Runnels (Cody’s real family name) has a new baby sister. We assume she knew that Lani was coming, but others who did kept pregnancy kayfabe really well…
Brandi’s shared that her pregnancy with Libby was “high risk”, and just revealed last May that she’d had surgery for endometritis — the same uterine condition Maryse Mizanain was treated for around the same time.
Those issues, and Brandi’s age (she’s 42), were probably big factors in the decision to keep the baby news close to the vest until everyone involved got a clean bill of health.
