Boro Park to Be Sprayed for Mosquito Control

BoroPark24 has reported that mosquitoes carrying West Nile virus have been detected across New York City. While the citywide aerial spraying did not target Boro Park directly, some infected mosquitoes have been found in the neighborhood’s 11219 zip code.
To reduce the mosquito population, the NYC Health Department will conduct truck spraying in most of Boro Park on September 4, from 8:30 PM to 6:00 AM. In case of bad weather, the spraying will be postponed to September 8. The pesticides used are considered low risk for people.
People who are sensitive to the spray might experience irritation in their eyes, throat, or skin for a short time. Those with asthma or breathing issues could also be affected. To stay safe, try to stay indoors as much as possible. If the spray comes into contact with your skin or clothes, wash immediately.
The spraying aims to keep Boro Park safe by controlling the mosquito population and lowering the risk of West Nile virus.
