Pamela Anderson has long been one of our most famous blondes. Since her career began, we’ve known her to sport shades of champagne, platinum, honey, and even light caramel while appearing as Barb Wire and C.J. Parker in Baywatch. But as of tonight, it appears that the actor’s blonde era is over: Anderson is now a redhead.
This new hair color—which was paired with a shaggier chop—is just part of Anderson’s ever-evolving approach to beauty. It all started in 2023, when the actor attended Paris Fashion Week wearing no makeup—an unexpectedly controversial move. “I know I wasn’t making strides toward world peace, but I was making a statement,” she told me at the time while sitting front row at such shows as The Row, Vivienne Westwood, and Victoria Beckham. “I just thought, I’m doing this for all the girls out there. I’ve had stepdaughters in past relationships, and my sons have girlfriends, and this was for them. In this day and age, do we even know what a face looks like anymore? This is it.”
In the years since, Anderson continues to live a mostly makeup-free life—last year she announced to Vogue that she was refounding the vegan skin-care brand Sonsie Skin—and is now apparently giving up bleach too.
According to someone close to Anderson, her new look is inspired by Swedish film stars Gunnel Lindblom and Bibi Andersson. These are the references she brought to Paris hairstylist John Nollet, who gave her the transformation. This is all in preparation for her next role: playing opposite Steve Coogan in Michael Cera’s directorial debut, Love Is Not the Answer.
