Black Ops 7 will get a new Zombies map with every seasonal update

Round-based Zombies returns in Black Ops 7, and it’s bringing the huge Ashes of the Damned map at launch. That’s not all, the devs have confirmed a new map arrives every season – but not necessarily round-based.

On top of the launch map, with the original crew and the first-ever Wonder Vehicle, Survival returns in Black Ops 7 Zombies.

This stripped-back mode first appeared in Black Ops 2, and features a small area of a bigger map without any Easter eggs, where your only goal is to survive as long as you can.

The first Survival map, Farm, arrives at launch, with other areas of Ashes of the Damned arriving later.

But, it won’t just be Survival maps dropping all year, as Activision said in a statement to CharlieIntel: “Every season will have a new playable map. Our roadmap is ambitious, with at least one new experience in each season, including plenty of Round-Based maps throughout post-launch.”

Each BO7 season brings a new Zombies map

So, while there are “plenty” of round-based maps coming in Black Ops 7’s post-launch, there might not necessarily be a new one every season. Instead, we should at least see a new Survival map each season – perhaps more.

While the Survival maps aren’t new per se, it’s more content than we saw in Black Ops 6’s lifecycle, where four post-launch maps arrived across six seasons (Season 6 isn’t live yet, but the final map, Reckoning, arrived in Season 5).

Easter eggs return, with Directed Mode coming later (usually in the next update), letting those who want to complete it at their own pace do so.

They also said there will be “at least one new experience” per season, so expect new modes and events alongside the new maps.

In an interview with CharlieIntel, Treyarch’s Associate Director of Design, Kevin Drew, said, “I’m confident Zombies fans will be happy this year, with what we’ve got.”
