The Buffalo Bills agreed to terms with free-agent wide receiver Gabe Davis on Tuesday, according to a league source.
Davis, 26, spent his first four NFL seasons in Buffalo; the Bills selected him in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He enjoyed his best season in 2022, when he caught 48 passes for 836 yards and seven touchdowns and had a four-touchdown game in an overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round.
He signed a three-year deal with the Jaguars before the 2024 season; however, Davis was slowed by a knee injury and had his worst statistical season (20 catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns). The Jaguars released him in May.
Davis is expected to start on the Bills’ practice squad as he recovers from last season’s torn meniscus.
The Pittsburgh Steelers also showed interest in Davis; he visited twice with the Steelers after his release by Jacksonville, including on Tuesday.
