There is a transfer battle going on between Newcastle United and Manchester United for Benjamin Sesko, and the player has been told which club to sign for.
Both clubs remain in the market for a new number nine, with Liverpool expected to sign Alexander Isak from the Magpies and Manchester United still searching for an out-and-out centre-forward.
Newcastle United made an offer for Sesko earlier this week, believed to be in the region of €90m.
TBR Football have since revealed Man Utd have now made a bid for the Bundesliga striker, which is thought to be €5m less.
Sesko is still deciding between United and Newcastle, TBR Football revealed recently, but the player has now been sent some transfer advice.

Benjamin Sesko urged to join Newcastle United over Manchester United
Newcastle won their first piece of silverware in the 21st century last season and despite finishing 5th, secured Champions League football.
The Red Devils, meanwhile, ended 2024/25 in 15th place and will not be in Europe next term.
Now, speaking on talkSPORT, former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan was asked which project is better for Sesko.
Jordan went on to name a plethora of reasons why Newcastle is the better option for the 22-year-old and was quick to ‘rubbish’ claims that moving to the North East ‘isn’t as appealing as going to Manchester’.
He said: “Newcastle, I think. Because Newcastle comes with expectation but doesn’t come with the same pressure that Man United comes from. Whilst people focus on Newcastle and they focus on it because Newcastle makes a lot of noise because it’s a very passionate football club and the fans are very motivated by it, it doesn’t have the day-to-day scrutiny Man United has.
Jordan continued: “You go there, you play in a side that’s ambitious but is a step below the radar. You go and perform at a high level, the opportunity comes again, and it might come at a different stage in Man United’s evolution.
“If I’m a centre forward that can get past the notion that going up to the North East of England isn’t as appealing as going to Manchester, and by the way Newcastle is a beautiful town, and this idea that [there is a] north-south divide and everybody up in the north doesn’t have any understanding of culture and sophistications, rubbish brilliant, brilliant town. So if I were in his shoes, if the economics of the deal were that I wasn’t being compromised financially by going to Newcastle over Manchester United, I think it’s a great move. I think Eddie Howe is a brilliant manager.”
Alan Shearer has mixed feelings about Benjamin Sesko to Newcastle United
Sesko made 45 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring 21 and assisting six.
As well as the RB Leipzig forward, Newcastle have been linked to Yoane Wissa of Brentford, who did not travel with the Bees for their latest pre-season fixture.
Alan Shearer has discussed Newcastle signing Wissa and Sesko this summer, dubbing it ‘decent business’.
But he did suggest signing the less experienced Slovenian centre-forward would be a gamble for the Magpies.
He said: “If they can get Wissa in, if they can get Sesko in, then that will ultimately be decent business I think.
“You know he (Wissa) can do it in the Premier League, which adds up to a lot. And on the other one, Sesko, I know he’s a lot younger, and it would be more of a gamble on him because you’re going to have to pay a decent size fee for him.
“I saw him two or three times in the Champions League last season, and there’s definitely room for improvement.
“Yes, there’s certainly talent there, but there’s a lot of improvement that can be made, and you bring in someone who’s unknown into the Premier League, and that’s always going to be a bit of a risk.”
