The Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ game Sunday at the Raiders (3:25 p.m., CBS 2):
Patrick Finley
Raiders, 28-27: The Bears have played 21 games in the Pacific time zone this century. They’ve lost two-thirds of them and have covered the point spread only eight times. Their last win out west came Dec. 26, 2021, with Nick Foles at quarterback. This year: 3-0
Jason Lieser
Bears, 33-24: The Raiders simply aren’t doing much right. They have potential with an explosive runner in Ashton Jeanty and a savvy quarterback in Geno Smith, but this is a team the Bears should be able to handle. This year: 1-2
Mark Potash
Bears, 23-21: Caleb Williams and the Bears’ offense will face a bigger challenge on the road against the Raiders’ defense. Beware the hiccup, but the Bears are playing with confidence and figure to keep getting better under Ben Johnson. This year: 3-0
Steve Greenberg
Bears, 24-20: When was the last time you publicly predicted a road win for a team with a 1-10 record in its last 11 games away from home? Yeah, well, I don’t feel great about it, either. If these teams played 10 times, they’d each manage to win fewer than five. Don’t ask me to explain the math. OK, Geno Smith, let’s see those interceptions. This year: 3-0
Scoop Jackson
Bears, 33-21: In three games teams have out-rushed the Raiders by 125 yards. If the Bears continue that ground game trend, they’ll go into the bye week staring .500 straight in its face. This year: 1-2
