Fans, especially those of who were following pro wrestling around 2011-2012 and were amazed WWE was giving television time to a female performer who didn’t fit the spokesmodel stereotype the company had featured since the Attitude Era, were very excited when rumors of AJ Lee’s return became a reality last night on SmackDown.
Lee’s relatively brief WWE run resonated with folks who were already in the business — and inspired several others to enter it. Their reactions were as exuberant as any fans’.
Naomi — who in response to rumors and WWE’s teases the other day tweeted, “If she returns while I’m out yall will witness the crash out of the century on this app” — also had to eat away her feelings (or it could be pregnancy cravings)…
It was a feeling felt throughout the industry…
