Battlefield 6 sells over 7m units across PC and console in five days

Battlefield 6 has sold over seven million units across all platforms in five days, according to data shared exclusively with GamesIndustry.biz.

Alinea Analytics estimates that Battlefield 6 has generated $350 million in gross revenue so far, and is “performing better than every premium game launched this year,” only to be beat by EA Sports FC 26.

Data from its aggregated estimates across Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation shows that in the same time period of launch, FC 26 sold 7.7 million units, Monster Hunter Wilds sold 6.2 million, and Borderlands 4 sold 2.3 million.

Additionally, Split Fiction moved 1.3 million units, while Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 sold 1.2 million.

Breaking down units sold, over half were sold on Steam with upwards of 3.5 million copies generating over $220 million.

PlayStation had a 23.7% share surpassing 1.5 million copies, with 86% of purchases on PlayStation 5 being digital. 19.6% of units sold were on Xbox, totalling over 1.2 million copies.

Looking at player count, over half of players were on Steam (3.8 million), followed by a quarter of players on PlayStation (1.8 million), and 20% on Xbox (1.4 million).

Video Game Insights also provided exclusive data to GI.biz, noting a significant overlap between Battlefield 6 and other similar titles.

Call of Duty saw the biggest overlap at 87.7%, followed by Fortnite (85.1%), and Grand Theft Auto 5: Legacy Edition (80.5%).

Elsewhere, the main audience for Battlefield 6 on Steam is currently the United States with a third of players purchasing the title. China has 15% of the market share, while Japan sits at 3%.

Battlefield 6 launched earlier this week (October 10). Within 24 hours of its debut, it became the biggest game in the Battlefield franchise on Steam with over 700,000 concurrent players.

This came weeks after the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, which was previously the series’ most played title on the platform.
