Battlefield 6 Runs At 300+ FPS With Ryzen 9800X3D+RTX 5080 Combo But Reportedly Suffers Nearly 33% Loss With Intel Core i9 14900K

Battlefield 6 seems to be well-optimized for X3D processors. As per a Twitch streamer, Battlefield 6 was able to run at 300+ fps on average with Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

Twitch Streamer Bruhskey Says Ryzen 9800X3D+RTX 5080 Delivers >300 FPS in Battlefield 6 at Native 1440p; But With the Same GPU and Core i9 14900K, the Performance Takes a Huge Dip

With nearly every new installment, usually, triple-A titles become more demanding, and we don’t expect Battlefield 6 to be as easy as the previous ones on your rigs. However, the recent report suggests that if you own a 300+Hz gaming monitor, it is possible to enjoy the fluidity your monitor offers. While the evidence requires screenshots or gameplay video, this appears to be a possibility if we believe Bruhskey’s analysis, who is a decently popular Twitch streamer.

The streamer posted that he was able to achieve >300 FPS in the game with his configuration consisting of AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which is the leading gaming CPU, when paired with the GeForce RTX 5080. Both components offer one of the best gaming experiences, but seeing 300+ FPS in a modern Triple-A title could mean that the game is well-optimized (Battlefield 6 requires RTX 3060 Ti as the recommended GPU). Battlefield games can usually run at high FPS if you own a decently powerful gaming rig, but one of the most impacting factors here is the CPU choice.

As per Bruhskey, if you own the Ryzen 9800X3D (or other powerful modern X3D CPUs), you will see much higher performance than with the Intel counterparts. In the sub-thread, he says that his friend uses a Core i9 14900K, which is currently the best Intel gaming CPU, but even with the same GPU and same graphical presets, he was getting roughly 110 FPS less, which is about 30-33% lower performance than with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

Once again, take these numbers with a grain of salt, as no proofs were provided (due to embargo). As per Bruhskey, the game was running at 1440p native resolution. He didn’t say whether Frame Gen/MFG was turned on, but reading his tweet, it appears that he wasn’t using any upscaling or frame gen solutions (the game has been confirmed to support major upscaling technologies). So, at 1440p, 300+ FPS does look too good to be true. Moreover, his system latency was also very low, at just 6.7 to 8.5 nanoseconds.

If what he has reported is true about the performance difference between Ryzen 9800X3D and i9 14900K, it will be unsurprising to see other X3D CPUs to push the performance to such a level. Traditionally, many games have favored X3D CPUs due to higher L3 cache, which can come in handy in intensive processes, and this could be another instance where AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology shines.
