After plenty of calls from players, DICE have announced that they’re working on progression changes in Battlefield 6 to speed up the process of levelling up.
Although Battlefield 6 is being seen as a return to form for the series, there have been a few early issues. One of the most talked about is progression, as players feel that it takes far too long to earn XP, making it a grind to earn new weapons, gadgets, and attachments.
Now, the devs have finally responded, as they’ve announced some major changes that should make it less of a chore to climb the ranks.
BF6 are making weapons and attachments easier to unlock
On October 17, they shared an X post explaining that they’ve “heard your feedback” and want to ensure that players feel “rewarded” for their time, so XP gain will be increased by 10% and 40% for match completion and daily bonuses, respectively.
They’re also speeding up how quickly weapons progress through the first 20 ranks, “so you’ll start earning useful attachments almost twice as fast.”
Another major change is that the ranks required to unlock Assignments are being reduced. These are another way of unlocking new weapons, but they previously required a lot of work to unlock, as well as some of the challenges taking hours to complete.
Going forward, “assignments that required career ranks 20, 23, and 26 to begin will now require career ranks 10, 15, and 20, respectively.”
The post also revealed that the Assignments will be made slightly easier in the future, but this will require testing before it can be rolled out.
“Our goals here are to make the progression experience feel smoother and more rewarding while still keeping that sense of achievement when you complete a milestone like fully mastering a weapon,” the devs continued.
Prior to these changes, some players resorted to community Portal servers to earn XP quickly. However, DICE are clamping down on XP farms, as it’s been making it harder to fill regular servers.
