The shooter fled the area, and investigators are still searching for suspects.

Several men reportedly wearing Texas Ranger–style hats were briefly detained for questioning, but no arrests have been announced.

Tributes quickly began pouring in across social media as news of Baby Uiie’s death spread.

‘Rollin 60s leader Big U’s son Baby Uiie has reportedly been shot and killed outside a smoke shop in Los Angeles. RIP,’ one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Henley was best known for his collaboration on the track Hood with HoodRich Pablo Juan and Kenny Beats.

The rapper was the son of Eugene “Big U” Henley — founder of Big U Enterprise and a major figure in the Los Angeles rap and street community — and his wife, Stacey Henley.

He leaves behind siblings Michael, Cherysh, and Daiyan Henley, the latter a linebacker for the Los Angeles Chargers.

Inmates Luce Cannon, who is currently incarcerated alongside Big U at the Metropolitan Detention Center, told TMZ that both he and Big U were devastated by the news.

Earlier this year, Big U was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges including racketeering, robbery, fraud, and embezzlement of charity funds

‘It’s heartbreaking,’ Luce said, adding that while being behind bars makes the loss even harder, ‘God makes no mistakes.’

He also suggested Jabari may have known his killer.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the shooting was gang-related.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the longtime Rollin’ 60s leader allegedly ran his organization “like a mafia,” using fear and intimidation to expand his influence across Los Angeles since the 1980s.
