Key Stories to Watch

  • The Avs are riding a seven-game winning streak, are 9-0-1 in their last 10, and have just one regulation loss through 20 games. On the road, Colorado is 6-1-3, which includes consecutive wins two weeks ago in Edmonton and Vancouver.
  • The Predators are one of two teams with only two wins in their last 10 games. Their 0.400 points percentage is second-worst in the NHL, ahead of only the Calgary Flames. Nashville is 5-5-2 at home.
  • In goal, Colorado is going with Mackenzie Blackwood, which likely means we’ll see Scott Wedgewood on Sunday. Blackwood has won his last two starts and 2-0-1 this season since making his debut on Nov. 1 at San Jose.
  • This is the first of three meetings between the Avs and Predators over the next 12 Colorado games. Jared Bednar’s club has a relatively easy schedule during this stretch.
  • Colorado called up Jason Polin to fill out the lineup for the recently injured Gavin Brindley. The 21-year-old forward is still being evaluated and did not make the trip with the Avs.
  • In an effort to help the power play, Gabe Landeskog looks to be getting a shot on the top unit, replacing Victor Olofsson.
