The next major expansion for Helldivers 2 is a week away, as dev Arrowhead attempts to inject new enthusiasm into its live service success story.
The timing is ideal, as the Sony game is launching on Xbox Series X|S today, along with a new Warbond inspired by Halo 3: ODST. The title first exploded on PS5 and PC last year.
Due out on 2nd September, expansion Into the Unjust – which will be available for all players to download and try – will see democracy deliverers bringing the battle to Hive Worlds, where there’ll need to wrestle with new species and complex cave structures.
Going underground will bring new challenges to the gameplay: you’ll need to look for gaps in the ceiling in order to call in supplies, and will also need to coordinate with your team over who’s going to provide an effective source of light.
There’ll be new challenges on these new planets, including one where you need to escort a mobile oil rig across the planet’s foreign surface. Can you protect it when it becomes the target of your alien adversaries?
The new update will be flanked by a fresh Warbond from 4th September, separate from the aforementioned Halo 3: ODST one.

The Dust Devils Warbond comes with “one primary weapon, a new throwable, and three unique stratagems”, including a long-range missile silo which looks like a lot of fun to use.
You can get a good look at all the new content in the trailer embedded above, but do let us know if you’ll be returning to Helldivers 2 for this fresh supply drop in the comments section below.
