The Mexico City Secretariat of Public Safety reported that the perpetrators of the murder were on two motorcycles and chased the artist, who tried unsuccessfully to escape. Officers are reviewing security camera footage to try to identify the suspects. Argentine presenter Javier Ceriani explained that the victim tried to resist, but the authorities did not provide further details about what happened.
Fede Dorcaz was born in Mar de Plata, Argentina, but at the age of 13 he moved to Coll d’en Rebassa with his family. He studied secondary school at the Seminary in San Pedro, although he did not complete his studies. He played football in the Penya Arrabal youth team and later in San Francisco in the Division of Honour.
When he turned 18, a modelling agency in Barcelona hired him to work in Spain, Italy and the United States. He was the face of designer Giorgio Armani. ‘It was incredible, I didn’t have to work for any other brand,’ he said in an interview with Bulletin sister paper Ultima Hora in September 2022. He modelled for Armani and Dolce Gabanna in Milan.
According to his website, the young man used to sing in the dressing rooms before going out on the catwalk and moved to New York at the age of 19. ‘Without speaking English and with little money,’ he said. ‘Twenty-five newly arrived models lived in a single flat.’ Through his manager, Fede Dorcaz met the producers who discovered the Backstreet Boys, Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez.
‘Careers are designed, and now I’m with the right people who will take me where I need to go. I want to be something big.’ Fede Dorcaz moved to Mexico to devote himself to music. ‘Staying in Mallorca is impossible. Leaving paradise to pursue a dream. I know I want to be an international singer; I dream about it every night.’
