Apple TV+ Rebrands To Apple TV, Dropping Plus Sign

Apple TV+ is undergoing a makeover. The streamer has dropped the plus sign and is now simply Apple TV, “with a vibrant new identity.”

The news was quietly revealed in its press release announcing the F1: The Movie streaming date with no additional details.

Apple launched the streaming service on Nov. 1, 2019 with eight original series (seven scripted and one unscripted) and one original documentary, including The Morning Show, For All Mankind, See, Servant and Dickinson.

Apple made history as the first streaming service to land the Academy Award for Best Picture with CODA. Apple Original Film The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse also earned the Academy Award for Best Animated Short, and Killers of the Flower Moon landed 10 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture.

To date, Apple Original films, documentaries, and series have earned 620 wins and 2,816 award nominations, including multi-Emmy Award-winning comedy Ted Lasso and Oscar Best Picture winner CODA. In total, Apple earned 22 wins for the most recent 77th Primetime Emmy Awards.
