Apple Martin is reflecting on growing up with two famous parents, Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
A month after sharing the spotlight with her mother, Gwyneth Paltrow, 53, in a GapStudio campaign for the Fall/Winter 2025 collection by Zac Posen, the budding model, 21, told The Telegraph, “I constantly remind myself how grateful I am to have these opportunities.”
“I know this is not a normal way to grow up by any means,” Martin said in an interview published on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Paltrow and Martin also share son Moses, 19.

“But my parents did a really good job of instilling in me that I shouldn’t be entitled to anything,” continued Martin. “I have to work.”
Martin spoke with the outlet to promote her partnership with the London-based fashion house self-portrait, marking the first time she’s ever been the sole face of a brand.

Despite having a rising career in fashion, including making her Paris Fashion Week debut at the Chanel haute couture show in January 2023, Martin says she has not been fazed by the life she gets to live.
She balances her professional opportunities with studying law, history and society at Vanderbilt University.
Martin told The Telegraph that she stays grounded by “hanging out with friends” and trying to have “a normal college experience.”
“That’s how I like to unwind,” she said. “We’ll sit down and do little guitar playing sessions, one person will play and the others will sing. I also love watching reality TV with my friends. There was one day we spent five hours on the couch and just watched old episodes of America’s Next Top Model.”

While her parents may now be divorced, Paltrow and Martin have always maintained that Apple and her brother were the priority in their family.
In an interview with PEOPLE in November 2023, Paltrow said she and her ex-husband have always been on the same page about raising their kids.

“I just always say, to say you want to put your kids first and actually to put them first are two different things,” said Paltrow. ” I think we all think we want to put our kids first, but when it’s sort of … you’re making a sacrifice or you feel angry or hurt, sometimes it’s hard to do that.”
