Oscar nominee Anna Kendrick and The Studio star Seth Rogen are in negotiations to star in comedy Babies, which will be directed by Lauren Miller Rogen (Like Father) from her original screenplay.
The synopsis reads: Struggling with the decision of whether or not to bring a child into the world, Annie (Kendrick) and her husband Aaron (Rogen) become instant co-parents when their newly-divorced friend moves into their home with her 3-year-old.
The pic is set to begin production in November in Los Angeles. AGC and CAA Media Finance will co-rep worldwide rights.
AGC Studios and Monarch Media are set to co-finance and produce the Los Angeles-set contemporary comedy drama with producer Lylas Pictures.
Lylas Pictures’ Lauren Miller Rogen and Jen W. Ray, AGC’s Ford and Monarch’s Barnett will produce, with AGC’s Miguel A. Palos Jr. and Zach Garrett, Monarch’s Alan Powell and Vicky Patel and Lylas’ Sophie Høegh serving as executive producers.
Miller Rogen’s credits include writing, directing and producing the Netflix original film Like Father, starring Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer, and writing, starring in and producing the indie comedy For a Good Time, Call…, which was released by Focus Features. She also is attached to direct the horror comedy Be Mine with Project X/Radio Silence for MRC and the action comedy Sky Dancers for Original Film.
The deal was negotiated by CAA and Fred Toczek on behalf of Lylas Pictures, James Ellis for Monarch and by Anant Tamirisa on behalf of AGC.
Lauren Miller Rogen is repped by CAA; Rogen is repped by UTA and Principal Entertainment; and Kendrick is repped by CAA and Range Media Partners.
