Ana de Armas has candidly opened up about her plans to start a family with her “true love” amid her rumored romance with Tom Cruise—nearly one year after she ditched Hollywood for a quaint life in Vermont.
The 37-year-old shared her dream of becoming a mother during an interview with Italian publication F Magazine, admitting that she is ready to welcome children into her life “soon.”
However, de Armas conceded that love is “unpredictable,” noting that she knows she can’t control the timing of her relationship because her life is “not a movie.”
The Hollywood heavyweight’s insight into family planning comes amid her reported relationship with “Top Gun: Maverick” star Cruise, 63, after the pair were spotted together several times.
Cruise and de Armas have long been dogged by romance rumors, having been pictured enjoying meals together and jetting off on private helicopter rides—complete with their pet dogs—while also collaborating on an upcoming movie, entitled “Deeper.”

Yet the actress made no reference to the rumors while speaking about her future family plans, although she did admit that the decision to have children does not sit solely with her.
“Yes, I would like to have children and a family, soon if possible,” she shared. “But it doesn’t just depend on me. As we know, love is unpredictable, you never know when true love will come. Relationships can’t be controlled: life is not a movie.”
The actress said that she has always had a strong longing to be a mother, adding that she wants to protect children.
She added that she has an “immense instinct to protect children, because they are defenseless and innocent beings who need adults to feel safe.”
Prior to her rumored romance with Cruise, de Armas was involved with “Gone Girl” star Ben Affleck, 52; however, the pair called it quits after two years, with reports suggesting that their relationship broke down because the actor was not looking to have more children.
Since then, de Armas’ life has transformed—with the actress opting to ditch her former homes in New York and Los Angeles in order to take up residence in an off-grid estate in Vermont.
The starlet solidified her commitment to her new life in the rural area recently, when she sold off her stunning New York loft for $3.5 million.

De Armas managed to secure the full asking price for the picturesque pad, which is located in the trendy SoHo neighborhood of New York—and which she purchased back in 2021 for $2.9 million, according to records.
However, not long after buying the abode, de Armas listed it for the first time, initially putting it on the market in August 2023 for $4.3 million, before lowering that ask to $3.99 million in March of the following year.
The home was temporarily removed from the market in June 2024, before returning in February with a new price—$3.5 million—for which the property has now sold, as first reported by Architectural Digest.
The sale came just a few years after she made the decision to move out to Vermont in a bid to live a quieter life, revealing in September 2024 interview with E! News that she wanted to escape “the craziness of the world.”
“I feel like nowadays, we all want to go away from the craziness of the world,” she said at the time. “We all want to have the chance to build your own safe space. I’ve made that decision myself.”
Although the “Ballerina” star has kept details about her Vermont dwelling closely guarded, she did share a few anecdotes about the home, describing it as a “cocoon.”

“I found a home where I really feel off the grid,” she explained. “I can collect myself and only bring there who I want to be with. I have my little cocoon there.”
De Armas’ off-grid getaway was purchased by the star for $7.2 million in November 2022, as first reported by Page Six, which noted that the dwelling boasts six bedrooms and eight bathrooms as well as stunning mountain views, a swimming pool, and access to plenty of walking trails.
Records seen by Realtor.com® indicate that the actress managed to snag a bit of a deal on the dwelling, which was originally listed for $7.5 million—with the description noting that the property was being offered fully furnished.
Built in 2008, the luxury two-story home offers over 8,000 square feet of living space and details like multiple fireplaces; a modern kitchen with a dishwasher, double oven, and wine fridge; and a primary suite with a luxe bath, walk-in closet, and sauna.
An Instagram post from the actress shows her enjoying the rustic splendor of her new home. She posted images of glorious trees with golden foliage, a fire pit, woodsy vistas, and even an adorable four-legged friend.
The property could not be more different from de Armas’ SoHo spread, which was officially sold on June 26 and offered just two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.
