Allison Williams and Dave Franco star in the first trailer for Paramount Pictures‘ feature adaptation of author Colleen Hoover‘s novel Regretting You.
Hitting theaters Oct. 24, Regretting You has a cast that also includes Mckenna Grace, Mason Thames, Sam Morelos, Scott Eastwood, Willa Fitzgerald and Clancy Brown. Josh Boone (The New Mutants, The Fault in Our Stars) directed the film from a script by Susan McMartin (After).
Regretting You centers on the aftermath of a tragic car accident that claims the lives of two family members and leads to an exploration of past secrets and regrets.
“That’s not how I thought our first kiss would be like,” Thames tells Grace in the trailer.
Regretting You is based on Hoover’s best-selling 2019 novel. The movie hails from Constantin Film, with Robert Kulzer, Brunson Green, Anna Todd and Flavia Viotti serving as producers.
The first Hoover novel to hit the big screen was It Ends With Us, with the Sony movie debuting last summer and surpassing $350 million at the global box office. Justin Baldoni directed the feature and starred opposite Blake Lively and Brandon Sklenar.
Also on the horizon is Amazon MGM Studios’ film adaptation of Hoover’s novel Verity from director Michael Showalter and starring Anne Hathaway.
Williams was seen earlier this summer in the Universal sequel M3GAN 2.0. Franco’s horror film Together, in which he stars opposite real-life wife Alison Brie, hit theaters last week from Neon. Additionally, Franco appears later this year in Lionsgate’s Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.
