Alex Pereira may have suffered a bad injury during his extremely short UFC 320 title fight against Magomed Ankalaev.
This past Saturday at UFC 320, Alex Pereira had the chance at redemption when he rematched Magomed Ankalaev for the light heavyweight title.
And the Brazilian took his chance from the opening bell, bringing the pressure to Ankalaev and crushing him in the first round to reclaim his title.
With his win, Pereira did what no other fighter has done for seven years joining Jon Jones to become only the third two-time light heavyweight champion in history.

Dana White provides bleak Alex Pereira injury update
Almost immediately after the ref stepped in to stop the fight, ‘Poatan’ could be seen grabbing at his toes and seemingly attempting to adjust his toes.
And then in the post fight press conference, UFC boss Dana White gave a bleak injury update after the Brazilian was spotted walking around backstage in a boot.
“He definitely either dislocated or broke his toes or something, I don’t know that for a fact but I saw what all of you saw and it looked like he definitely f—– his toes up,” White said in the post fight press conference.
However, despite White’s provisional prognosis, Pereira revealed in an interview almost immediately after his win that he suspects he has broken his foot and believes he broke it after throwing the first kick.
“Yeah, we have to see how this heals up but I’m pretty sure it’s broken, I was kicking his legs and when he switched stances as soon as I kicked his lead leg, I felt my foot (break) so we’ll have to see,” Pereira said.
Pereira is campaigning for heavyweight super fight at the White House
The 38-year-old has once again found himself rise to the top of the list when it comes to the biggest current stars in the promotion.
And with that, Pereira is hoping that with his star power, he can convince the promotion to allow him to fight Jon Jones in a heavyweight fight on the upcoming White House event.
However, the UFC boss is currently hesitant to allow the champion to move up in weight, as there are several contenders at light heavyweight for him to defend the title against first.
