Police have shared more details about a car crash involving Alec and Stephen Baldwin, which happened earlier this week.
Both brothers – thankfully – walked away from the shocking car crash with no injuries. And now a police report has just revealed the cause of the incident.

Speaking to US Weekly, the Chief of Police of the East Hampton Town Police Department confirmed they had “responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Route 27” on Monday, 13th October.
In his report, Chief Michael D. Sarlo also revealed more information about the accident, including how it happened and whether Alec will face charges.
“A white 2023 Range Rover, operated by Alec Baldwin, with passenger Stephen Baldwin, was found to have struck a tree on the Eastbound shoulder of the roadway while avoiding the turning action of a 2020 Mack commercial truck, registered to National Waste Services out of Bay Shore, NY,” he said.
“The contributing factors to the accident were found to be a reaction to an uninvolved vehicle and the slippery and wet roadway conditions,” the officer continued. “There were no injuries reported or summons issued.”
The Chief of Police’s comments align with a post Alec made on social media in the aftermath of the crash. “I crushed my wife’s car, I feel bad about that, but it’s all fine,” he said on Instagram. “I’m fine and my brother’s fine.”
Alec then detailed the events leading up to the crash, which involved “a garbage truck the size of a whale”.
“To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree. I hit a big fat tree and crushed my wife’s car,” the actor continued. In the comments section of the post, fans shared their well-wishes for the brothers. “Glad all is okay,” one person said in response. Another follower agreed, writing: “I’m very happy you and your brother are alright.”
