Reporting around AirPods Pro 3 launch timing has been all over the place in the last year, but the latest update from Bloomberg offers very good news for those waiting for a new model.
AirPods Pro 3 are coming this fall, per Mark Gurman
In his Power On newsletter over the weekend, Mark Gurman shared an overview of what to expect from Apple’s product launches this fall. Most of what he shared focused on products we’ve heard were coming already, but there was one exciting addition: new AirPods Pro.
Mark Gurman writes at Bloomberg:
There will be Apple Watch updates, faster Vision Pro headsets and iPad Pros with the M5 processor. You should also expect new AirPods Pro earbuds (I reported earlier this year that Apple is working on a pair with heart-rate monitoring), as well as HomePod minis and Apple TV set-top boxes starting this year.
Until now, AirPods Pro 3 have been the biggest wildcard heading into Apple’s busy launch season.
They were long expected to launch this fall, based on prior Gurman reporting and also Apple’s pattern so far of three-year gaps between new AirPods Pro models.
But then analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared an ambiguous report about how AirPods “may not see significant updates until 2026.”
Another analyst report corroborated the 2026 timing for AirPods Pro 3.
Based on the ambiguity of Kuo’s initial take, and several code leaks in iOS 26 that supported a likely 2025 launch, I remained hopeful that a fall release was still possible.
For a while, the main thing that gave me doubt was Bloomberg’s silence. Despite several Mark Gurman reports outlining Apple’s upcoming products, new AirPods Pro were absent from his reporting.
Now though, this latest report serves as strong evidence that AirPods Pro 3 are likely coming this fall after all.
And if that’s true, we could very well see them unveiled in just a couple weeks.
