After GTA 6 Delay, Wolverine PS5 Doubles Down on Fall 2026 Release Date

Rockstar’s decision to delay GTA 6 to 19th November will have led to some high-pressured publisher meetings these past few days.

One game that seems unaffected by the announcement is Marvel’s Wolverine, however. The title had already thrust its claws into a Fall 2026 release date, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change.

Just to reiterate its target on X (or Twitter), dev Insomniac said: “Don’t miss a shred of information. Wishlist Marvel’s Wolverine, coming Fall 2026.”

Now it’s possible this date could still change over the next 12 months, but right now the game seems unaffected by GTA 6’s delay.

To be fair, Fall 2026 is a fairly large window, which could realistically mean anywhere from late September through December. We imagine the game will be out prior to GTA 6, though.

This could create a crowding problem next holiday.

The reality is that no publisher’s going to want to release near the anticipated Rockstar open world, which means we could be in for an especially stacked September and October release schedule.

We’ll obviously need to wait and see how things shake out, and there’s always the possibility of another GTA 6 delay, of course – although Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick recently said he has confidence in the date.

Let’s wait and see how publishers decide to navigate this hectic period.
