AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Zero Hour Pre-Show Results (8/24/2025): Live Match Updates and Highlights

The AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Zero Hour Pre-Show opens up with Renee Paquette welcoming us. She then introduces the rest of the pre-show panel Jeff Jarrett, RJ City and Madison Rayne and they run down the card for today’s PPV. The panel then says Bryan Danielson was supposed to join the crew.

We then get some discussion from the panel on today’s PPV.

We then get a video package looking at the AEW Women’s World Championship Match and some discussion from the panel.

The panel then continues to run down the card and we get a couple of video packages before they send things down to ringside, where Excalibur and Ian Riccaboni welcomes us to the show and we get the first match of the Zero Hour pre-show.

CRU then make their way down to the ring for the first match of the pre-show and Don Callis Family follows. El Desperado, Paragon and Yuya Uemura then make their way down to the ring next.

8-Man Tag Team Match: Paragon (Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong), El Desperado and Yuya Uemura vs. CRU (Action Andretti and Lio Rush) and Don Callis Family (Hechicero and “The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander)

The match starts off with Uemura and Alexander sizing each other up. Desperado and Hechicero then both tag in, trading holds, shoves and counters until Hechicero starts to take control. He then pulls Desperado to the corner and tags Alexander back in, but Rush quickly tags himself in instead. Andretti then distracts Desperado and they start double teaming the NJPW star. Desperado then regains composure and tags O’Reilly in, but the sustained double team proves too much for him.

He is then able to tag Strong in and the faces are able to briefly regain the advantage. Things then break down as all eight men start fighting. After the melee, Andretti and Rush are back in the ring with Strong, with Rush as the legal man. Strong then attempts to tag out, but Rush keeps him locked up in the center before hitting him with a suplex and pin attempt. Strong is then able to hit a backbreaker on Rush and he struggles to his feet to tag in O’Reilly, who stops Rush from tagging out.

Andretti then breaks up O’Reilly’s submission attempt on Rush and the heels begin double teaming the Paragon member again. O’Reilly then holds off strong, but eventually has to tag in Uemura. The heels then tag in Alexander and he begins exchanging strikes with Uemura. Uemura then dropkicks Alexander and gets fired up, but Alexander regains the advantage and tags in Hechicero and they begin double teaming Uemura as Rush and Andretti clear the rest of the opposition.

The heels then take turns landing offense on Uemura and go for a pin attempt but Desperado breaks it up. The two teams then run through their offense until only Andretti and Rush are left standing. Uemura then gets back up, clears and Andretti and starts wrestling Rush. Uemura then gets the win with a Deadbolt.

After the match, O’Reilly points at Uemura and sings his praises. Archer and Romero then joins the heels in attacking the babyfaces. Tomohiro Ishii then makes his way down to the ring. Ishii and Archer then trade elbow strikes. Ishii then gets the better of the exchange and hits a brainbuster. O’Reilly is happy, but Strong pulls him away from Ishii.

Ricochet and the Gates of Agony then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the pre-show and Michael Oku and JetSpeed follow.

Trios Match: JetSpeed (“The Jet” Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey) and Michael Oku vs. Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) and Ricochet

The match starts off with Ricochet and Oku, with Oku taking the immediate edge before GOA gets involved. The heel advantage doesn’t last long as JetSpeed neutralizes GOA so Oku can focus on Ricochet. Oku then takes a nasty fall to the outside after being shoved in mid-air by Liona. Ricochet then pulls Oku into the ring and attempts a pinfall, but Oku kicks out. GOA then work on Oku before Ricochet tags back in. Oku then starts to gain steam and goes for a tag, but Ricochet stops him and tags out. Oku then tags in Knight, who starts taking out the opposition.

Bailey then tags in and all three faces start working on Kaun before Ricochet breaks up a pin. Everyone then gets leveled with a series of offense until Oku and Ricochet are left to tag in. Oku then avoids a kick and knocks Ricochet to the ground on the outside. He then pumps up the crowd, jumps onto Ricochet and avoids a tackle from Liona. Oku then hits Ricochet with a frogsplash in the ring, but Ricochet kicks out of the pin attempt. GOA then get into the ring, but JetSpeed stop them from taking out Oku. Ricochet then hits Knight with a knee, but Bailey avoids being thrown out. Bailey then takes out GOA on the outside and Knight clotheslines Ricochet, with Oku hitting a springboard moonsault. 

Ricochet then kicks out, but Oku puts him in a half-crab and GOA takes down JetSpeed. Referee Rick Knox then gets distracted by GOA. Ricochet then gouges Oku’s eyes and the heels regain the advantage, with Ricochet picking up the win after hitting his finisher.

We then head to the back, where Lexy Nair is interviewing Don Callis. She asking Callis if he is worried about all the titles the Family has on the line tonight. Callis says heavy is the head that wears the crown and he has taken out the most expensive insurance policies to make sure they retain their gold. Callis then calls Prince Nana a psychotic and questions Swerve Strickland taking advice from him, while Okada has someone like him. Callis then says Kyle Fletcher will crush his old pal Hiromu on their way to victory.

Megan Bayne then makes her way down to then ring for the next match of the pre-show and Triangle of Madness follows. Willow Nightingale, Queen Aminata, Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander then make their way down to the ring next.

8-Woman Tag Team Match: Triangle of Madness (Julia Hart, Skye Blue and “The Toxic Spider” Thekla) and “The Megasus” Megan Bayne vs. Harley Cameron, Kris Statlander, Queen Aminata and The Conglomeration’s Willow Nightingale

The match starts off with an eight-woman brawl, but the faces take control and get their opponents separated into each corner. Nightingale and Thekla then begin wrestling and Thekla stops Nightingale’s momentum before tagging in Hart. Hart then ends up in the ring with Aminata, who gets in some offense before tagging in Statlander. Hart then gets away from Statlander and tags in Blue and they start working on Statlander together, with Hart tagging back in. They then clothesline Statlander into the outside and clear the faces from the ring apron. Megan Bayne and Thekla then execute some tandem offense onto their opponents on the outside before Thekla tags in and throws Statlander into the corner.

Statlander then reverses another whip into the corner, but Thekla gets Statlander into a submission in the corner before tagging Hart in. Statlander then gets thrown into a kick and goes for a pin attempt, but Statlander kicks out. Blue then tags in, but Statlander is able to tag Cameron in and Bayne makes her way into the match. Cameron is then able to get an advantage over Bayne with some quick offense. Bayne then regains her footing and takes control of Cameron, but she is able to tag Aminata in. She and Bayne then exchange offense and Aminata gets Bayne down, allowing her to tag in Nightingale. Bayne then tags Blue in and Blue takes Nightingale by surprise. Nightingale then reverses and goes for a pin attempt, but it is broken up. 

Aminata and Thekla then start duking it out in the center of the ring and Aminata goes down. Thekla then dives from the corner onto Aminata and Statlander, leaving everyone down on the ground except for Thekla. She and Aminata then fight their way up the ramp and away from the ring. Bayne and Cameron are in the ring as the legal wrestlers and Bayne goes for a Liger Bomb against Cameron until Harley removes her face-mask and gains the advantage. They then both end up down and Cameron goes for the tag until Blue and Hart pull Nightingale off the apron. Nightingale then knocks them both down and gets back into position, but Bayne tags in and kicks her down. Cameron then tries to roll Bayne up, but Bayne kicks out. Bayne then hits a Liger Bomb on Cameron for the win.

We then head to the back, where Lexy Nair is waiting for The Young Bucks, who walk in with One Day Talent name tags. They then berate a production worker, demanding their introduction be changed for tonight, saying they’ll play their old song and order him to find the most dangerous weapons on the streets of London and put them in a bag under the ring for the main event. Then then says if he doesn’t, he saw what happened to Justin Roberts last week.

Dr. Martha Hart, Oje Hart and AEW President Tony Khan then make their way out. Khan then boasts today being the largest crowd for a pro wrestling show in the history of The O2 Arena in London, England. Khan then turns the microphone over to Martha, who talks about it being great to be at Forbidden Door. She then talks about backing Hangman Page in tonight’s main event against MJF with the AEW World Championship on-the-line. She then asks the crowd who they’re going for and hands the mic back to Khan. The AEW President then says a few more quick words and then wraps up moments later.

We then get the entrances for the final match of the pre-show.

AEW World Trios Championship Match: The Opps (“The Wrestler” Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs and Samoa Joe) (c) vs. Bullet Club War Dogs (Clark Connors, Drilla Moloney and Robbie X)

The match starts off with Shibata and Connors and both men trade strikes. Shibata then sends Connors to the outside. He then sends Connors into the barricades on the outside and gestures to the crowd before sending Connors back into the ring. Connors then hits Shibata with a shoulder tackle and takes control, with Moloney tagging in. Shibata then sends him into the corner and tags Joe in. They then exchange elbows, but Moloney is able to get Joe down with a dropkick. X then tags in and attempts to get the better of Joe in strikes, but it doesn’t work and Joe casually avoids a dive from X.

Joe then tags Shibata in and Shibata brutalizes X in the corner. He then gets for the pin attempt, but X kicks out and Shibata puts X in a sleeper hold. Shibata then bounces off the ropes, but Connors grabs his legs and pulls him outside as Moloney pulls Joe off the apron. Hobbs then gets involved on the outside and he takes Connors down. Shibata then makes his way back into the ring, but X has the momentum. He then hits a senton on Shibata, but the NJPW star kicks out and X tags in Moloney. He and Shibata then exchange chops and Moloney gets control. Connors then tags in and he tries to pin Shibata, but Shibata kicks out and goads Connors into chopping him repeatedly. Shibata then gets fired up, but Connors takes a cheap shot. Shibata then escapes and tags in Hobbs for the first time.

Hobbs then takes down the other team by himself, hitting heavy hits on Moloney in the corner before hitting him with a lariat. Connors then hits Hobbs with a chop block out of nowhere and X clears Joe and Shibata from the apron. The War Dogs then beat down Hobbs and go for a pin, but Hobbs kicks out. Moloney then attempts to hit Hobbs with the Drilla Killa, but Hobbs counters and tags in Joe as Moloney tags in X. Joe then hits a powerslam on X, but Connors break up the pin attempt. Connors and Maloney then start beating down Joe as X climbs to the top rope. Shibata then knocks him down and prevents Gedo from getting involved. This then allows Hobbs to regain the advantage over Moloney as Joe hits a muscle buster on X for the win.

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door opens up with a video package highlighting today’s PPV and the narrator says the professional wrestling world is together like never before in history.

Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Bryan Danielson then welcomes us to the show as ring announcer Justin Roberts conducts the introductions for the first match of the PPV. Adam Copeland then makes his way down to the ring for the first match and Christian Cage follows. Killswitch and Kip Sabian then make their way down to the ring next.

Tag Team Match: “The Rated R Superstar” Adam Copeland and Christian Cage vs. Killswitch and Kip Sabian

The match starts off with Copeland and Sabian and both men lock up before Copeland drops Sabian to the mat. Sabian is then back on his feet and he sends Copeland to the corner with some strikes before Copeland slides out of the ring. Sabian then follows close behind, eventually taking a clothesline before Copeland sends him back in the ring. A tag is then made to Cage and they double team Sabian before Cage stays on the attack.

Killswitch then tags in and goes after Cage, but Cage immediately tags to Copeland instead. Copeland and Killswitch then trade strikes until Copeland gets taken to the canvas with a thrust kick. He then sends Copeland to the corner, but Copeland fights back to send Killswitch out for a baseball slide into the barricade. He then fends off Sabian, but Mother Wayne distracts him long enough for Sabian to get the drop on Copeland. Killswitch then continues the attack and Sabian tags in after Copeland is brought back into the ring.

Sabian then sends Copeland to the corner and catches him on the top rope before climbing the turnbuckle for a missile dropkick that gets a two count. A tag is then made to Killswitch as Sabian looks for a cannonball, but Killswitch offers an unwanted assist by throwing him into Copeland. This then gets Killswitch a two count as Mother Wayne tries to tell Sabian it’s okay. Copeland then fights to his feet, struggling to get a tag from Cage but to no avail as Killswitch drops him to the mat once more.

Sabian then yells at Killswitch to make the tag and Killswitch obliges by smacking him clean off the apron. He then sends Sabian into the ring as Mother Wayne knocks Cage off the apron. Sabian then gets Copeland up on the turnbuckle, but is hoisted up by Killswitch, setting him up on his shoulders. Copeland then jumps off for a Doomsday Device on Sabian in the process. Cope then finally manages to tag in Cage and Killswitch tags himself in. He then lays in some heavy offense until Cage fights back, sending him into the corner and then setting him up on the ropes. Sabian then tries to intervene, but gets propped up on the ropes as well for a boot to the back and Copeland gives an assist to Cage and he gets the drop on Killswitch. He then sends Killswitch back to the ring and a powerbomb from Copeland allows Cage to get a two count.

Killswitch then has both men by the throat when he’s back on his feet, but Sabian tags himself in and he distracts the referee as Copeland and Cage hit a DDT on Killswitch. This distraction then allows Sabian to get a cheap shot for a two count, with Cage fighting back for a spear that gets blocked by Sabian. Copeland then slides in for an assist and he hits a spear on Sabian that allows Cage to get the win.

After the match, Cage offers Copeland a handshake, which Copeland accepts. Copeland then goes for a hug, but Cage pushes him away shakes his hand.

We then get a video package looking at the TNT Title Match. Hiromu Takahashi then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the PPV and Kyle Fletcher follows.

AEW TNT Championship Match: Don Callis Family’s “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. Hiromu Takahashi

The match starts off with both men circling the mat and Fletcher getting a shot in on Takahashi. Takahashi then hits the ropes, but gets sent to the mat by Fletcher. Takahashi then tries to fight back for a hurricanrana, but settles for a cross body off the ropes instead. Fletcher then heads to the corner and cuts Takahashi off with a boot to the face. He then stays on the attack by sending Takahashi to the corner for some strikes until Takahashi dodges a chop for a few shots of his own.

Fletcher then hits a back elbow strike on Takahashi and he gets a two count. Fletcher then follows it up with a kick to the back of Takahashi. Fletcher then hits Takahashi with a body slam and gets another two count. Fletcher then continues laying into Takahashi before cinching in a chin lock, but Takahashi fights back to his feet and he hits the ropes for a step-up hurricanrana.

The fight then heads to the ropes, where Takahashi sends Fletcher over the top rope and to the floor. Takahashi then sends Fletcher back into the ring and gets a two count of his own. Takahashi then sends Fletcher to the ropes, but is met with a flurry of offense from Fletcher leading to a Protostar Driver that gets Fletcher a near fall. Fletcher then hits a scoop slam, then goes up top but he is intercepted by Takahashi. Takahashi then hits the ropes, only to be hit with an avalanche back body driver for a near fall from Fletcher. Fletcher then follows it up with a Liger Bomb and gets another near fall.

Takahashi then laughs at Fletcher as he gets to his feet, which riles up Fletcher and he delivers some more shots on Takahashi. Takahashi then absorbs a series of forearm shots and Fletcher drops him to the mat, but that only gets a one count. Takahashi then heads to the apron as Fletcher looks for a sheer drop brainbuster, but this gets countered as Takahashi drops Fletcher on the hardest part of the ring. Fletcher then gets up, but it’s just enough for Takahashi to hit a sunset powerbomb to the floor. Takahashi then follows it up with a clothesline back in the ring for a two count.

Takahashi is then countered, but Takahashi send Fletcher down for another near fall. Takahashi then stays on top of Fletcher, but only gets another two count. Fletcher. then goes for a tombstone piledriver, bet that gets countered by Takahashi. Fletcher then hits a jumping tombstone piledriver for a near fall. Takahashi is in the corner as Fletcher hits a couple hard strikes, but a sheer drop brainbuster gets countered for a two count. Fletcher then hits the sheer drop brainbuster on Takahashi for the win.

After the match, Don Callis enters the ring to celebrate with Fletcher.

We then get a video package looking at the AEW TBS Championship 4-Way Match. Alex Windsor then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the PPV and Bozilla, Persephone and Mercedes Moné follow.

AEW TBS Championship 4-Way Match: “The CEO” Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Alex Windsor vs. Persephone vs. Bozilla

The match starts off with Moné getting sent out of the ring as the other three women go after each other until Bozilla lays out Windsor and Persephone. Moné then returns to look for a roll up on Bozilla, but to no avail as Moné is sent to the corner. Bozilla then lifts Moné onto her shoulders before sends Moné to the outside, where Moné lands on Windsor and Persephone. Persephone then gets back in the ring, but is dropped by Bozilla. Windsor then hops on her back as Moné slides in looking for a sneak attack, only to be knocked away by Bozilla.

Bozilla then goes on a tear until Moné evades an attack, forcing her to the outside. Moné then tries her hand with Windsor and Persephone, but this leads to Persephone getting a one count over Moné before Windsor pulls her away. Bozilla then returns to the ring and drops both women to the mat before Moné tries to go for a sleeper hold, only to be sent into the turnbuckle by Bozilla. Moné then tries to get the drop on Bozilla, but gets caught in midair as Windsor and Persephone slide out of the ring to pull Bozilla down.

This then leads to Moné taking a powerbomb before Bozilla deals with the other two outside. They then take her down before going back in the ring and chaos ensues with each of the three scoring a near fall in the process. This then all comes to a stop when Bozilla breaks up a pin to grab Persephone for a bearhug before dropping her to the mat. Bozilla then turns her focus on Moné in the corner. She then goes after Persephone next, but Windsor stops it with a lariat and puts her down briefly. Moné then takes advantage of the opening, but only gets a near fall.

Windsor and Moné then go at it in the corner until Windsor is put in a tree of woe and Persephone and Bozilla get in the mix. Windsor then hits all three women with a German suplex from the tree of woe. Windsor then hits Bozilla with a DDT on the ropes, but Persephone gets a roll up for a near fall. Moné then sneaks in and hits both women with a Statement Maker. Windsor then breaks free as Persephone gets Moné on her shoulders for a two count. Windsor then gets the upper hand as she locks in a Scorpion Deathlock on Moné and Persephone. Bozilla then steps on the hands of Moné and Persephone to stop them from tapping out before attacking Windsor to break the hold.

Bozilla then sends Windsor to the corner, where Persephone hits her with a spear before getting dropped by Bozilla. Bozilla then goes up top for a moonsault. Bozilla then goes for a cover, but Moné breaks it up at two. Bozilla then stares down Moné before setting up for a Liger Bomb, but Moné counters into a reverse rana for a two count. Windsor then comes in for a fisherman’s buster on Moné, but Moné kicks out at two as well. Windsor then goes for a German suplex on Bozilla, but Bozilla counters with one of her own. She then heads to the corner for a running lariat on Windsor before sending her to the corner for some more damage.

Bozilla then goads Persephone to come in and Persephone obliges with a drop on Bozilla to the mat. Windsor then drops her for a two count. Windsor then cinches in a Scorpion Deathlock until Moné breaks it up. Persephone then looks for a Money Maker on Moné, but Moné counters for the win.

We then get a video package looking at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match. We then get a vignette of Nigel McGuinness meeting with the legendary Johnny Saint for a game of chess to help prepare his mind for the match. McGuinness then gets a checkmate on Saint, who tells him to do it again at Forbidden Door.

Nigel McGuinness then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the PPV and Zack Sabre Jr. follows.

IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match: Zack Sabre Jr. (c) vs. Nigel McGuinness

The match starts off with both men exchanging holds and snap mares. McGuinness then takes Sabre down with a side headlock for a one count before Sabre breaks free. Sabre then takes McGuinness down a couple of times. McGuinness then breaks free from a wristlock take down. Sabre then goes right back on the attack and stays on the wrist of McGuinness before McGuinness fights to his feet, only to be taken right back down. Sabre then attacks the hand and arm of McGuinness even as he tries to get back on his feet. McGuinness is right back on the mat and he gets up before moving his fingers to mock Sabre and that gives him the opening he needs to take Sabre down. He then has both arms trapped as he bridges back to apply further pressure and he gets a two count.

Sabre then manages to fight back to his feet and he kicks McGuinness on the arm to take him down. Sabre then goes after the neck for a moment before attacking the arm and he stomps on it for extra damage. McGuinness then gets to his feet and he traps Sabre’s arm for a wringer DDT. Sabre then manages to fight back before McGuinness sends him to the corner. McGuinness then sends Sabre to the mat to get a breather in the corner. Sabre is back on his feet as he goes after McGuinness in the corner, only to get hit with a combo by McGuinness. McGuinness then follows it up with a running uppercut, but Sabre runs at him and Sabre is hit with a slam that gets McGuinness a two count.

McGuinness then continues his attack on Sabre before Sabre traps the arm of McGuinness. Sabre then cinches in an armbar on McGuinness and Sabre also has a toe hold trying to go after the foot. We then see Daniel Garcia trying to push the ropes forward to help McGuinness and the referee spots this and tells Garcia off for it as McGuinness gets to his feet once again. This then leads to an exchange of uppercuts between both men. Sabre is then sent to the ropes and he gets a near fall. McGuinness then gets a near fall of his own and both men go for lariats with McGuinness prevailing from the ropes for a two count. McGuinness then hits a short-arm lariat and het gets another two count before Sabre gets him with a crucifix pin for a near fall as well.

This then ends with McGuinness going for a hold on Sabre, only for Sabre to counter with a hold of his own as the referee is forced to deal with Garcia getting too close to the action. The action then heads to the ropes before Sabre breaks free and he mouths off with Garcia. Sabre then goes up top, only to get caught with a Tower of London that gets McGuinness a near fall before Sabre breaks free. We then get an exchange of pinfall attempts that ends with Sabre managing to keep McGuinness on his shoulders down just long enough to pick up the win.
