Aaron Rodgers’ touchdown celebration interrupted by surprise Broderick Jones tackle

When Aaron Rodgers completed a 68-yard touchdown pass to Pat Freiermuth with just under three minutes left in Thursday night’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, it felt like a moment worthy of celebration. However, that celebration was short-lived, at least for Rodgers.

After the touchdown pass, Rodgers jogged to the sideline while celebrating how he usually does, with a one-hop fist pump. Steelers left tackle Broderick Jones, who is officially listed at 311 pounds, came from behind and gave Rodgers a big hug, which took the 41-year-old to the ground.

That took the smile off the quarterback’s face.

Rodgers stayed down for a moment before getting to his feet and giving a quick two-handed push to Jones’ chest while scolding him. Rodgers appeared to be saying “Get off of me,” before he was greeted by other teammates and coaches as the situation calmed down quickly.

This isn’t the first time Rodgers has been on camera with some friendly fire. Last year, Rodgers was caught on camera giving Robert Saleh, his coach with the New York Jets a two-handed shove, which Rodgers downplayed.
