Popular singer D4vd is cooperating with authorities after investigators found a body in the trunk of a car registered to the musician, a representative for the artist said.
The Tesla was impounded last week at a tow yard in Hollywood, Calif., after employees reported a foul odor coming from the car. Police said officers found human remains inside a bag in the front trunk of the Tesla.
“D4vd has been informed about what’s happened. And, although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities,” a spokesperson for D4vd told NBC News on Tuesday. Yahoo has reached out to D4vd’s team for comment.
The platinum-selling artist went on to perform at the Fillmore in Minneapolis on Tuesday evening as part of the North American leg of his Withered world tour, TMZ reported. A video posted on social media with 4 million views as of Wednesday morning claims to show D4vd performing at the Tuesday concert, giving away popular Labubu toys to the crowd, hours after news of the incident broke. He is scheduled to perform in Kansas City, Mo., on Wednesday evening.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m. PT on Sept. 8, LAPD officers responded to Hollywood Tow on North Mansfield Avenue after someone reported smelling a foul odor coming from a vehicle at the impound lot.
A dismembered body was found inside a plastic bag located in the front trunk of a 2023 Tesla registered in Hempstead, Texas, to singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.
The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office said the corpse was of a woman about 5 feet 2 inches tall with black wavy hair and a distinct “Shhhh” tattoo on her finger. She was wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal bracelet and metal stud earrings. Officials have not yet identified the remains.
It was not immediately clear how the woman died, but police are treating it as a death investigation.
The Tesla bearing Texas license plates was towed after it was found abandoned five days prior at Bluebird Avenue and Doheny Drive in the Hollywood Hills area, according to police. The impounded Tesla had been at the tow yard for two days before the smell was reported, police said.
The 20-year-old singer-songwriter, known for his indie, R&B and alt-pop sound, rose to fame after he went viral on TikTok and has more than 33 million monthly listeners on Spotify. D4vd is known for hits like “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me,” both of which have over 1 billion streams on Spotify. He is set to conclude his world tour in North America at the end of September in Los Angeles. The artist himself has not made any public statements regarding the case.
