Player Ratings: Real Madrid 2 – 1 Marseille

Player Ratings: Real Madrid 2 – 1 Marseille

Thibaut Courtois: 8. Most of the action unfolded at the other end, but Courtois stayed sharp and came up with four crucial saves to preserve the win.

Trent Alexander-Arnold: N/A. Forced off early with an injury and didn’t play enough minutes to be fairly rated.

Éder Militão: 6. Below his usual standards, losing his man a couple of times and looking shaky.

Dean Huijsen: 6.5. A similar performance to Militão. His distribution wasn’t at its usual crisp level either.

Álvaro Carreras: 9. Outstanding at both ends. Constantly drove forward with threatening runs and was a rock defensively — Madrid’s best defender on the night.

Aurélien Tchouaméni: 8.5. Five big interceptions, relentless pressing, and progressive play from midfield. Bossed the center of the pitch.

Fede Valverde: 6. Struggling for rhythm. His passing was erratic and he never fully imposed himself.

Franco Mastantuono: 7. A ton of energy, particularly defensively. Created danger but wasted at least one clear chance.

Rodrygo: 7.5. His dribbling broke Marseille’s lines, including the sequence that led to Madrid’s first penalty.

Kylian Mbappé: 9. Took the game on his shoulders — 10 shots, 6 key passes, two goals, and relentless involvement in attack. A complete performance.

Dani Carvajal: 6.5. Excellent until his dismissal. Had been superb defensively and going forward, but his red card almost cost Madrid dearly.

Raúl Asencio: 6. Worked hard off the bench, contributing defensively, though guilty of a couple of sloppy passes.

Brahim Díaz: 6. Struggled to influence the game as Madrid were pinned back with 10 men.

Vinícius Jr: 7. Some wasteful dribbles but combined well with Mbappé, helping draw the second penalty that sealed the win.
