As the summer break steps up in the northern hemisphere, so PlayStation has begun its annual Summer Sale and there’s some good savings on hundreds of titles — including Gran Turismo 7.
The sale period lasts across much of the summer, with discounts applied to PlayStation Store items through to August 13. It’s not necessarily uniform, as stores in different regions may carry not only different items but also varying levels of discount even on the same items, so it’s worth checking out how much you can save and on what.
For racing game fans around the world though, Gran Turismo 7 is probably going to be the one to grab the attention as it’s not often included in these sales or at this level of discount. We did see the boxed versions running at 50% off via PlayStation Direct a couple of months back, but not the digital versions.
In all the stores we’ve checked so far, the base “Standard” version of the PS4 game and the PS4 game with PS5 upgrade entitlement are both half-price or better. The best deal comes for players in the USA, where the titles are discounted 67% and 58% respectively, at $19.79 and $29.39, but there’s similar savings elsewhere too; these versions are €29.39/€39.99 in Europe and £25.19/£34.99 in the UK.
However the Digital Deluxe version of the game isn’t discounted at all at present, making the handful of bonuses — the 1.5m additional credits, a Nations Cup-liveried GR Yaris, 30 special PSN avatars, and the official game soundtrack — seem a little pricey.

Of course GT7 isn’t the only big PlayStation racing game you can save some money on this summer. Forza Horizon 5 — and we can still scarcely believe we’re calling it a PS5 racing game now — also sees some discounts with around 25% off both the Standard Edition and the Premium Edition. Oddly, the latter is now cheaper than the undiscounted Deluxe Edition which has fewer perks, at $/€74.99 (£63.74).
Elsewhere, The Crew Motorfest has some of the biggest discounts across the store except in the USA where it remains full price. European, British, and even Canadian players can get 70-75% off some editions, with the Deluxe Edition at €22.49/£18.74 and the Gold Edition priced at €29.99/£25.49. A 67% discount on the Year 1 Pass add-on is applied in all regions though.
If you haven’t yet tried Need for Speed: Unbound — which is increasingly looking like the last NFS game for a long while — then the Summer Sale is a good chance to try it out at 80-85% off in every region for the standard and Ultimate versions.
Another one that catches the eye is Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, with the Gold Edition running at 60% off everywhere ahead of the big changes coming in Season 4 and 5; oddly the Silver Streets Edition is also reduced 60%, but the Silver Sharps Edition is full-price…
