Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 to offer mouse controls on Nintendo Switch 2

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 mouse controls

Another tidbit has surfaced about Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, revealing that mouse controls will be supported on Nintendo Switch 2. This comes from Nintendo’s Japanese website.

Nintendo hasn’t fully detailed how mouse controls work, but we know that they’ll be enabled following a free update. Similar to other games, the feature can be used with the Joy-Con 2. This same update will enable 4K support when playing on Nintendo Switch 2.

Presumably mouse controls will act in a way that the Wii Remote did back in the day. You should be able to move the cursor around to collect Star Bits. For Super Mario Galaxy 2, the Wii Remote was also used for Yoshi gameplay.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 + Super Mario Galaxy 2 was one of a few announcements made for the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. This appears to be a popular release. Pre-orders have already sold out on Target, and it’s currently a #1 seller on Amazon – that retailer still has reservations up here.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 launches for Nintendo Switch on October 2, 2025. A bunch of information was recently shared about what’s new for the collection, which we rounded up here.

Nintendo Everything is a participant in the Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop affiliate programs. The website may receive a partial commission through orders placed with these retailers.
