Rumour: Journalist Suggests GTA 6 Could Be Delayed To October 2026

Earlier this year, Take-Two delayed GTA 6 to May 2026 to allow Rockstar “extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve”, but not everyone thinks that launch date is likely. To be honest, we’ve questioned it here at PX HQ ever since we heard it – and now reporter Tom Henderson suggests that we could soon learn of another delay.

Speaking on a recent Insider Gaming podcast, the journalist mentioned that he “thinks we’re looking at October” for GTA 6’s release. Henderson did say that the “rumblings” he’s heard “aren’t good enough to corroborate a report on”, but that his gut feeling is the game won’t launch next May.

The reporter then followed up with a suggestion that GTA 6’s publisher will “probably announce it [the delay] in their next financial call which is late November” – that would give them roughly a year’s lead time on the next date, much like how the May 2026 delay was announced. We’ll throw a couple of podcast clips on this topic down below:

We do want to stress that, as Henderson says, this info isn’t concrete enough to produce a full report on right now – and probably constitutes as speculation as much as anything else. However, we know that the Insider Gaming reporter has good information and has been accurate about lots in the past – so we think this has a decent chance at coming true.

It’s probably worth keeping an eye out for that upcoming financial call on anything official regarding a GTA 6 delay then, and if you’re still hanging onto Take-Two’s current May 26th release date, you might want to start crossing your fingers for that to actually happen. Fall 2026 just sounds right, doesn’t it?
