Jones Commands the Offense in First Start
Filling in for Brock Purdy, Jones looked poised in his first start with the 49ers. He directed a 14-play, 80-yard touchdown drive on his opening series, then added two more scores. First, an 11-yard touchdown pass to TE Luke Farrell, a scoring throw to McCaffrey before halftime, and a 42-yard bomb to WR Jauan Jennings in the fourth quarter. Jones finished the day with 26 completions on 39 attempts for 279 yards, and his composure helped the 49ers sustain drives against the Saints defense.
McCaffrey Does It Again
The All-Pro back once again proved why he’s one of the league’s most dynamic playmakers. He found success both on the ground and through the air, including a receiving touchdown that sent the 49ers into halftime with a 16-7 lead. McCaffrey closed out the day with a total of 107 scrimmage yards, his second-straight 100+ total yard game.
