Xavier Woods really had head surgery — here’s the real reason why

At Worlds Collide last night (Sept. 12) in Las Vegas, Xavier Woods bowed out of The New Day‘s AAA Tag title match against Pagano & Psycho Clown. Many doubted Woods when he said it was because he need head surgery to repair damage done by Penta’s Mexican Destroyers, especially after we were reminded he’s also terrified of clowns*.

But the man wasn’t medically cleared, and you can’t fake that (okay, it’s wrestling… you totally can, but go with us here). Woods provided some proof he underwent a procedure on social media today, along with the message that stuck to his kayfabe explanation:

For those of you doubting that I had surgery yesterday morning. Here is a before and after pic. Plus the lymphoma that was carved out of the back of my head. This was the result of @ScrapDaddyAP instructing @PENTAELZEROM to injure me. Thanks Penta #ThankGodForTheNewDay

Before we could get too worried about cancer, Woods corrected himself on what was “carved out” of his head:

Lipomas are lymphoma. They’re fatty growths between the muscle and skin. They’re typically harmless, but can be removed when painful.

So not what Roman Reigns lives with, but… almost as bad?

Still, glad X is alright.
