The London derby saw Brentford ahead through Kevin Schade before Chelsea found a pair of second-half goals through some inspired subs, and the Blues felt a winning Premier League return would see them into the start of the UEFA Champions League.
But Chelsea failed to deal with a late throw-in and Fabio Carvalho found a point for the Bees at the Gtech Community Stadium.
What did Enzo Maresca have to say about the draw?

Thoughts on the match? “We knew that it was a tough game. First half we struggled to find solutions and space because they were defending very good and organized. Second half we were much, much better. It’s a shame because we conceded in the 93rd or 94th minute and we should’ve managed that better.”
What didn’t go well? “They scored from transition and set pieces. It was something we dealt with quite well in the game but at the end we conceded and a shame. … Second half we were much, much better. We deserved to win the game in the second half but it’s a shame. We lost two points.”
Cole Palmer was bright upon return? “Long time, almost three weeks out for him. We know he’s going to help us and he was very good when he was in the game.”
How can you see it out better? “Manage better the moment. Keep a little bit better the ball. We scored 86th or, 87th minute. With six minutes extra time we need to manage it.”
