He only pretended to listen to people, finding himself easily bored by all the mindless dribble coming out of people’s mouths in the Big Brother game. Yet even though Clifton “Will” Williams couldn’t stop daydreaming as others bared their souls, he emerged as the biggest favorite in the Big Brother house. Which is why he had to go.
Will was eliminated by his housemates in a 3-2 vote Thursday over ally Ashley Hollis after house target Keanu Soto once again saved himself in the BB Block Buster. Knowing his fate, Will gave a teary speech to the house. “I don’t know,” he began, searching for words. “We been here a long time. It’s tough. I know you all love me. If I leave this house, it’s probably because I’m lovable and I’m that lovable type of dude.”
He then told the houseguests to turn those frowns upside down, finishing with: “No tears, all cheers for Captain Will.”
We connected with the sports podcaster on his way to the jury to get his take on everything that went down, so please don’t fast-forward this interview as the fan favorite talks all about his time inside the house.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: You got super emotional while making that pre-vote speech to the rest of the house. Where did that well of emotion come from?
WILL WILLIAMS: I got emotional for a number of reasons. I got emotional because, first off, I knew that it was Sept. 11 and I wanted to say something in reference to Sept. 11 because the houseguests has been saying multiple thank yous of my service and so forth. So Sept. 11 is a big deal for me, especially because I served in Iraq and I served in the Army and such.
And also because I had feelings that I was gonna be leaving. Prior to the ceremony, we had various discussions and some of the houseguests — one in particular, Kelley — said something that really touched me. I’m not gonna say what she said, but it was really touching and Ava’s been emotional all day with me possibly leaving. And it was just a, a well of emotions. And I’m emotional guy. So everything kind of just bubbled over during the live show and you saw what you saw and it was just an emotional time.
You told us how you would start to space out when other people started talking to you for too long.
Affirmative.
Who is the person you tuned out the most in the house and why?
Oh my God, I can do a list. Probably Morgan and Vinny. More so Morgan, because she talked a lot, a lot, a lot. And her game meter was on 24 hours a day. It didn’t matter what time. It could be 4 o’clock in the morning, I could be going to the bathroom to go pee and Morgan is up and ready to talk game.
And sometimes Ashley, ’cause Ashley talked a lot in this house as well. We call it Ashley-isms now because Ashley talks so much, and sometimes she’s just saying some weird stuff. Kelley. Kelley Bells herself was queen of the crazy sometimes in that house. And I just have to go to those happy places just to keep myself sane. And it happened quite often in the house.

How do you feel about your upcoming time in the jury house, or do you wish you had a DVR fast forward button for that experience that could take you straight to finale night?
Okay, I wish I had a DVR button, because I’m ready to see my wife. Y’all know how I feel about my wife, and I wish I could just go straight 16 days to the finale. Then I’m on the plane and I’m going home. But I’m enjoying the process. I’m going to enjoy the process. I’m gonna enjoy the full Big Brother experience.
And so I want to see what the jury house has. I watched it for so many years and I just want to see what’s the deal. I want to see what all the fuss about. But for sure, I’m ready to fast-forward and be gone and go see my wife and kids and my grand-babies. That’s what it’s about. And I’m never gonna change that feeling. Sept. 28 can’t happen soon enough.

Most importantly, what would your Chocolate Drop have to say about how you played in the Big Brother house?
You know, I hope she says that I played a good game. I hope I didn’t embarrass her too much. I hope I represented her well. My goal is always to represent the older crowd. And in terms of her, the first thing I’m gonna say is “You still love me?” That’s the first thing I’m gonna say. “You still love me, right? We still good, right?” That’s the first thing I’m gonna say.
And then the second thing I’m gonna say, “Hey, did I embarrass you too much?” She probably won’t say yeah, because she’s used to me embarrassing her anyway in real life. So that would be the two questions that I ask her. She is a special woman, and God blessed me with her. So I let her know that every chance I get.
