The Galaxy S26 series launch is just four months away. Samsung is rumoured to be shaking up the Galaxy S lineup by renaming and reorganising models. Most of the features of Galaxy S26 series phones have leaked, and now, the charging speeds of the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Pro have been revealed.
Samsung isn’t improving charging speeds with Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Edge
Reliable tipster @UniverseIce has revealed on X that Samsung will continue to use 25W fast wired charging for the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge. This is the same fast charging speed as the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Edge. Since the Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumoured to feature 60W fast charging, people hoped to see at least 45W fast charging on other Galaxy S26 models. However, it appears that this is not the case.
Based on previous reports, the Galaxy S26 Pro is powered by a 4,300mAh battery, while the Galaxy S26 Edge has a 4,200mAh battery. Even with 25W fast charging, these phones should be able to reach up to 50% charge in 30 minutes and around an hour for a full battery top-up.
While Samsung has increased the battery capacities of the Galaxy S26 Pro and the Galaxy S26 Edge compared to their predecessors, it would have been better if those batteries were paired with 45W fast charging like the existing Galaxy S Ultra phones.
In comparison, the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max have 40W fast charging capabilities, while the iPhone Air is said to feature 27W fast charging. They also charge wirelessly at 25W (20W for the iPhone Air). So, all the new iPhones have faster wired and wireless charging than the Galaxy S26 Pro and the Galaxy S26 Edge.
Based on reports, though, the Galaxy S26 Edge has much better specifications than the iPhone Air. It has a bigger (6.7-inch) display, better rear cameras (200MP+50MP), a thinner body (5.5mm), and a bigger battery (4,200mAh) than the iPhone Air.
