Veteran LB Von Miller, Washington Commanders finalizing 1-year deal: Source

Linebacker Von Miller is on the verge of finalizing a one-year deal to join the Washington Commanders, a team source tells The Athletic.

Miller appeared to confirm the deal in an Instagram post that showed him in a Commanders uniform and featured the caption, “DC… What’s good??”

If the deal becomes final, Miller — a two-time Super Bowl champion, eight-time Pro Bowler and three-time First Team All-Pro — will join Washington after two seasons with the Buffalo Bills. The Bills released Miller in March after signing him to a six-year, $120 million deal ahead of the 2022-23 season.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero first reported the news Wednesday night. ESPN’s Adam Schefter, citing an unnamed source, said Miller’s camp and Washington are still “finalizing terms.”

Buffalo finished its season with a 13-4 record, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. Miller recorded six sacks, 16 combined tackles and a fumble recovery last season.
