Compared with its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip7 looks much more modern. The most striking change is the larger 4.1-inch cover display, which now finally covers almost the entire front. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is used to protect both the back and the front.
The very well-crafted chassis has also become slightly slimmer and still carries an IP48 certification, making it resistant but not completely protected against dust. Particles smaller than 1 millimetre can theoretically enter and block the hinge mechanism.
When unfolded, the foldable measures 6.5 mm; when closed, it is 13.7 mm thick, which makes the Flip7 appear noticeably bulkier than its larger Fold sibling. The hinge, made from advanced Armor Aluminum, feels sturdy and suitable for everyday use.
In terms of features, the device offers Wi-Fi 7 without the 6 GHz band, Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port with wired video output. In a copy test with an attached SSD (Samsung PSSD T7), transfer rates reached a good 325 MB/s.
