There’s a public health alert on a popular Trader Joe’s find, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection (FSIS). This is due to lack of proper inspection.
The 17.63-ounce packages of Trader Joe’s Uncured Pepperoni Pizza affected were imported from Italy and did not receive import reinspection, causing this alert. They either contain a lot code of “06/16/25” and the best-by date “08/16/26” or a lot code of “06/21/25” with best-by date “08/21/26.” The cardboard packaging also bears establishment number “IT 1558 L UE” printed inside the Italian mark of inspection.
These frozen pizzas were sold at Trader Joe’s locations in California. While not labeled as a recall since the product is no longer available for purchase, the FSIS has issued an alert on these products, and consumers are urged to check their freezer and dispose of or return the impacted frozen pizza.
