Year 3 of the Deion Sanders era at Colorado begins on Friday when the Buffaloes open the 2025 season against Georgia Tech. Colorado is 2-0 in season openers under Sanders, with wins coming on the road against TCU in his debut as a power conference coach and a thrilling victory over FCS powerhouse North Dakota State last season.
What will be different for Colorado in this new era is the debut of Liberty transfer quarterback Kaidon Salter, who is in line to serve as Shedeur Sanders’ successor. Salter won the starting job during fall camp over highly touted freshman Julian Lewis.
Georgia Tech finished 7-6 for the second consecutive season under coach Brent Key last season. The Yellow Jackets opened last season in style with an upset win over Florida State.
