A PS1 cult classic game has been released for PS5 and PS4 out of nowhere. A PS Store page for 2000 action adventure game Fear Effect was spotted this morning, published by Limited Run Games in collaboration with emulation company Implicit Conversions.

First spotted by Gematsu, Fear Effect costs $9.99 on the PS Store — a price in line with other classics. However, this one isn’t part of PS Plus Premium, so subscribers will have to make a purchase.
Over on Reddit, folks who purchased Fear Effect reported that it comes with 31 trophies, though they haven’t been picked up by databases like PSNProfiles at the time of this writing. Unfortunately, there’s no cross-buy between PS5 and PS4, so whatever version you purchase is the only version you’ll get.

The original Fear Effect was developed by Kronos Digital Entertainment, which shut down in 2002. The game received positive reviews and won numerous awards.
An attempt was made to revive the series with 2018’s Fear Effect Sedna, but the game was widely panned.
