Hayley Williams Officially Drops ‘Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party’

Hayley Williams has released the final sequenced version of her album “Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party,” which she previously released out of order on her website and streaming services.

“Ego Death” includes the 17 songs she put out in July as well as an additional track “Parachute.” The album was produced entirely by Daniel James, and Williams wrote, performed and recorded numerous instruments across the set. “Ego Death” features additional contributions from Brian Robert Jones and Joey Howard as well as Jim-E Stack on “True Believer.”

The official album comes just a month after Williams gave fans an access code as part of a drop from her Good Dye Young hair dye company, which revealed a web page featuring a batch of 17 new tunes including “True Believer” and “Negative Self Talk.” The site also included a “Misc” folder that led to performance clips and images of a lyric book and a t-shirt.

Though she took down the songs after 24 hours, Williams then put them on streaming services a few days later. Each track was uploaded as a standalone with different artwork, prompting fans to make their own tracklists and to launch hayleysingles.com, where they posted customized playlists. Williams was inspired by some of these playlists while sequencing “Ego Death.”

Over the past few weeks, Williams has been leading up to the project with the release of music videos for the title track, “Glum” and “Kill Me,” the latter of which was filmed in a garden.

Fans can pre-order the physical “Ego Death” album starting today in anticipation of a Nov. 7 release. “Ego Death” will be available in black and “Zissou Clear-Wave” vinyl as well as six additional colors (Highlighter Yellow, Marble Yellow, Orange Juice Splash, Crystal Clear, Grayscale Metallic Silver and Poolwater Wave). An “Ego Gold Marble” vinyl is available at retailers only in her native Tennessee, and 1,500 CD-Rs are available now for immediate shipping on her site.
