New Indoor, Outdoor Cams, and Doorbell leaked

With the Google Pixel 10 series out of the way, it looks like Google now has its eyes set on refreshing its Nest lineup. The line of smart home devices, which includes the likes of thermostats, locks, doorbells, cameras, speakers, displays, and more, hasn’t really seen a proper refresh for some years now.

We already know that the tech giant is working on a new Google Home speaker, but it looks like there’s actually a lot more in the works.

In addition to the speaker, Google’s also working on a new Nest Indoor Cam, Nest Outdoor Cam, and a new Nest Doorbell, as highlighted by the folks over at Android Headlines in a big leak report.

Nest Cam Indoor (3rd gen)

The current 2nd-gen Nest indoor camera is great, but it is limited to 1080p video quality. The leaked 3rd gen Nest Cam Indoor reportedly boasts 2K resolution, with support for zooming into the video footage by up to 6x to focus on specific details. Elsewhere, as is the case with Google’s entire portfolio, Gemini is expected to take over, with most other existing features expected to stay put.

The new cam will retain its predecessor’s Snow colorway, with new color additions being Berry and Hazel.

Google Nest Cam Outdoor (2nd gen)

In a similar vein, the 2nd gen Nest Cam Outdoor (wired) will retain its Snow colorway, with the only other option being a new Hazel colorway. It’s worth noting though that the device’s multipacks will be limited to the classic Snow colorway, with Hazel expected to be limited to single packs via the Google Store. 2K HDR video capabilities paired with Gemini support are also expected on the outdoor cam, and the same goes for up to 6x zoom capabilities.

In case of an internet outage, the camera will be able to store up to an hour of footage locally, paired with three hours of event video previews.

Nest Doorbell

Expect the 3rd gen Nest Doorbell to also be available in three distinct colorways. These include Snow, Hazel, and a beige Linen colorway. Google is going with similar upgrades across the lineup, so expect the doorbell, too, to boast 2K video resolution paired with the ability to zoom and focus on specific areas and local storage during times when your Wi-Fi goes out.

Gemini will power the doorbell’s smart features, including a new Daily Summaries feature that will, as its name suggests, offer a compact summary of all important events of the day. The same feature is also expected to make its way to the new indoor and outdoor cameras.

It’s not entirely clear when the new Nest devices will officially be launched, though judging by the renders, the launch doesn’t seem that far away.
