AirPods Pro 3’s charging case is shrinking and removing pairing button, hinting at larger redesign
We are likely just a couple weeks away from AirPods Pro 3 being unveiled. And despite an absence of leaks around product details for the last few months, rumors have started flowing again.
Today’s new rumor involves design changes coming to AirPods Pro 3’s charging case.
In a post on X, Asher Dipprey revealed two AirPods 4-inspired updates:
Leaker Majin Bu corroborated the info in his own post, teasing that more details would be revealed soon.
AirPods 4 launched last year with very similar design updates to its charging case.
By shrinking the charging case and removing the pairing button, Apple will make its two flagship AirPods products more uniform.
This rumor also hints at a design change to the actual earbuds themselves. Depending on how much the case shrinks, Apple will need to size down the AirPods Pro too.
Mark Gurman at Bloomberg previously reported that a new design was coming, but with no additional details.
Considering it’s been three years since AirPods Pro 2 debuted, it’s great to hear that Apple has changes in store not only for the internals of AirPods Pro 3, but the design as well.
