2025 Jets Roster Cuts (08/24/2025)

The Jets have released veteran LB Jamin Davis and waived six players: QB Adrian Martinez, DE Michael Fletcher, T Liam Forandel, TE Zach Kuntz, DB Tanner McCalister and RB Lawrance Toafili.

Davis (6-4 234) re-signed with the Jets in March and registered 6 tackles and 1 sack in preseason action. A 2021 first-round pick (No.19) by the Commanders out of Kentucky, Davis was claimed by the Jets off waivers on Dec. 31, 2024. He played nine games last season split between Washington (5) and Minnesota (4), totaling 18 tackles (12 solo) and 1 sack while taking 106 defensive snaps.

A first-year passer from Kansas State, Martinez (6-2, 220) completed 58.8% of his throws (30-of-51) for 352 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs over three summer games. Appearing in 49 college games from 2018-22 with Nebraska and Kansas State, Martinez hit on 63.6% of his passes for 9,752 yards with 51 TDs and 31 TDs. Last July, Martinez signed with the Jets and threw for 270 yards, 0 touchdowns and 1 interception while completing 53.2% of his passes in preseason play. He signed a reserve/futures deal with the Green & White in January.

A rookie out of Appalachian State, Fletcher (6-6, 275) had 2 tackles and 1 PD in the preseason. Fletcher, a Flint, a MI native who started eight games at defensive end for the Mountaineers last season and tallied 4 sacks and 19 tackles, signed with the Jets on May 16.

Fornadel (6-4, 312), a James Madison product who most recently spent time with the DC Defenders of the UFL, his second stint for the team, signed with the Jets on July 29. He also played for the Defenders in 2023-24. Fornadel first signed with the Canadian Football League’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers after he went undrafted in 2022. The James Madison product had a stint with the Patriots in 2024 and spent most of last season on their practice squad before he was released in December.

Kuntz (6-8, 251) was a Jets’ seventh-round pick (220th overall) out of Penn State and Old Dominion in the 2023 draft. He had 2 receptions for 15 yards in preseason action.

McCalister, a first-year DB from Ohio State, had six tackles in exhibition play. After being elevated to the Broncos’ active roster for three games and contributing on special teams last season, McCalister signed with the Jets on July 24.

Toafili (6-0, 185) had a 19-yard scoring run in the Jets’ 19-17 preseason loss to the Eagles on Saturday night. He averaged 5.3 yards per carry on his 15 attempts this summer. Signing with the Jets on July 29, Toafili led the Seminoles last season with 109 rushes for 456 yards and 3 touchdowns.
