Following up on this week’s announcement of Tales of Xillia Remastered, Bandai Namco has confirmed the game’s frame rate and resolution on Nintendo Switch.
Frame rate is where fans might be disappointed with the final result. It turns out that the RPG will run at 30 FPS on Nintendo’s platform (and that could fluctuate depending on what’s happening on screen). As it turns out, this is actually a downgrade from the original PlayStation 3 release. Much of the game did run at 30 FPS back in the day, but battles were 60 FPS – and it would have been great to see something similar on Nintendo Switch.
If you’re looking for good news, Tales of Xillia Remastered features native resolution on Nintendo Switch. The game will be 1080p docked and 720p in portable mode. These seems to be fixed numbers – there doesn’t seem to be dynamic resolution.
Tales of Xillia Remastered will arrive for Nintendo Switch on October 31, 2025. We have more information about the game and a first look trailer here.
