Hansi Flick was “proud” of his Barcelona team after their dramatic 3-2 comeback win away to Levante to win their second straight La Liga match to begin the season.
After a tough first half the Catalans played much better in the final period, and found a late winner thanks to an own goal by Unai Elgezabal to steal all three points in València. Speaking after the game, Flick expressed his pride with the team’s effort and belief in the second half, praised Levante’s defensive performance and stressed the importance of learning from the game to continue improving in future matches.
“I’m proud of my team. We tried to come back and got three points; we believed until the end. It’s not easy because our opponents usually play us very deep, and we have to improve in games with those approaches. This game will help us a lot to continue growing.
”Levante defended very well. They have very fast players. In the first half, we created chances to do more. In the second half, Pedri’s early goal helped us a lot.”
