Ford Multimatic Motorsports’ two Mustang GT3s will have a new look for this weekend’s Michelin GT Challenge at VIR.
The two GTD PRO cars will run carbon fibre and fluorescent yellow liveries to celebrate the reveal of the new Ford Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon at this year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion.
Ford Performance said in a press release today: “The ultimate expression of the Mustang GTD’s high-tech, high-performance design serves as a reminder of the race-derived, cutting-edge capability that comes from the Mustang GT3 race car.”
The road-going Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon will also appear at VIR this weekend, ahead of its first deliveries to customers, which are set for October.
An additional Ford Mustang GTD will be the pace car for this weekend’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Michelin Pilot Challenge Races, featuring three Mustang GT3s and five Mustang GT4s, respectively.
Mustang Challenge will also be part of the VIR weekend, with 14 cars entered in this weekend’s races.
