  • Trainor completed the “Nicki Minaj challenge” in the video and jokingly captioned her post, “never again.”

Meghan Trainor has officially endorsed the transformative power of getting bangs. Taking to Instagram to debut her new hairstyle, the “Been Like This” singer looked essentially unrecognizable with a long fringe that covered her entire forehead. She paired the fresh chop with a plunging black and white tracksuit-style romper, mid-calf sheer black socks, and white sneakers.

Trainor’s video shows the singer balancing on two dumbbells in a gym. The gravity defying pose is part of the “Nicki Minaj challenge,” which was inspired by the rapper’s 2013 music video “High School” featuring Lil Wayne. After completing the challenge, Trainor jokingly captioned her post, “never again.”

Trainor has had a busy year following the conclusion of her Timeless tour last fall. In January, the “Made You Look” singer penned an vulnerable essay in Today about her postpartum struggles after welcoming her son Barry in 2023.

“A month after having my second baby, I hit a breaking point,” she wrote. “I was having a panic attack and I was just over-exhausted, but I felt like I was dying. I felt if I stood up, I would pass out. I didn’t feel safe holding the baby and at the same time I felt like my body was giving up on me.”

Four months later, Trainor again opened up about her postpartum experience, this time sharing that she used a weight-loss drug after giving birth to baby number two.

“No, I don’t look like I did 10 years ago,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me.”

The musician went on, adding that she’d combined lifestyle changes with a trainer as well as Mounjaro. Mounjaro (a brand name for Tirzepatide) is used to treat Type 2 diabetes, but it was approved by the FDA for weight loss in 2023.

“I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy,” Trainor said. “And I’m so glad I did because I feel great.”
